Thoughts on product management…and AWS

Here are some thoughts on the future of UI/UX and Front-End:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) released a new product, AWS Amplify Studio, which is a tool that exports UI components as code, with minimal coding involved
• This trend of no-code platforms is interesting, given that Amazon’s motivations for creating this Amplify Studio product is to (1) get more UI/UX designers and developers on board the Amazon cloud ecosystem (2) compete with existing products like Webflow and Wix (3) reduce business time to create applications from design to code to launch
• A cautionary note that there will be some friction, given that not everyone requires the need to scale according to usage (“pay as you use”), as more so for small businesses that prefer fixed costs rather than (potentially high) variable costs
• It would be interesting to see how the world of UI/UX blends with that of Front-End.
